The Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning FMBEP, in collaboration with other relevant stakeholders and support from the World Bank-assisted Accelerating Nutrition Results in Nigeria (ANRiN) Project, has commenced a three-day Zonal Capacity Building Workshop on Nutrition Budget Tagging for the South-South Zone.
A 15-member Nutrition Financing Expert Working Group comprising representatives drawn from nutrition-related Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) from the South-South Zone, Edo State inclusive, are expected to deepen their understanding of the taxonomy for nutrition activities and enhance their technical knowledge of the nutrition budget tagging process. A key tool for promoting transparency and accountability in nutrition financing.
The workshop, aimed at strengthening the capacity of participants in budget preparation, allocation, and tracking for nutrition-related interventions holds from13th-15th October, 2025, at Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
